In 2014, I had the great privilege to be an advisor to the Special Representative of the Secretary General leading the UN Mission for Ebola Emergency Response. Our BCG team was involved in the formation and approval of the mission and then deployed with the UN team to help establish operations in West Africa. We also helped the UN team and the government of Liberia adjust their approach as cases began coming down quickly late in the fall—an amazing opportunity to put ten years of BCG training to use in an incredibly high-impact way.
