Rza Nuriyev is the Head of BCG in the Central Asia and Caspian regions and a core member of Boston Consulting Group’s Energy practice.

Since joining BCG in 2007, Rza has worked primarily with companies in oil and gas, and petrochemicals, advising them on key issues related to strategy, operations, organization, and people management. His engagements have covered initiatives on operational efficiency, maintenance, go-to-market strategy, localization strategy, total shareholder return, and post-merger integration, as well as improving the efficiency of organizations and processes.

Since 2017, Rza has been the Head of BCG in the Central Asia and Caspian regions, developing projects in  Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan. In this region, Rza successfully executed projects including the full-scale transformation of the largest producer of oil and gas, an evaluation of the effectiveness of trading operations, commercial optimization of oil products sales, a reorganization of the headquarters of a large oil and gas company, and increasing the investment attractiveness of a country.

Rza is a People Chair for BCG CIS overseeing all people related topics for CIS consulting staff – recruiting,
career development, L&D, alumni relations etc. – and focuses on developing people. Before joining BCG, he worked as an expert on the design of fourth-generation telecommunications systems for Nortel Networks, USA.
