Senior Partner & Managing Director; General Counsel
Ulrike Schwarz-Runer joined Boston Consulting Group as global general counsel in July 2016. She is a member of the firm's Executive Committee as well as other core management committees and company boards. She is responsible for BCG's global legal function and all legal and related governance matters. In her role, Ulrike is involved in the firm's critical business priorities including assessing new markets and arenas the firm enters.
Prior to joining BCG, Ulrike was general counsel and a board director of Grosvenor, one of the largest family-owned businesses in the UK. Ulrike also served as general counsel of a sovereign wealth fund in the Middle East and as executive director at Goldman Sachs advising ultra-high-net worth individuals and family-owned businesses.
Earlier in her career, Ulrike was a corporate lawyer at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. Ulrike held nonexecutive director roles in the financial services industry.
Ulrike is qualified to practice law in England and Wales, New York, and Austria.
