Monika Saunders is a core member of the Operations and Industrial Goods practices at Boston Consulting Group. She is the co-lead for Operations on the global MPI leadership team and heads the Operations Network of Women in the Australia-New Zealand region. She started her BCG career in Hamburg and has worked throughout Europe, Asia and South America.

Monika works primarily with mining and manufacturing clients, focusing on cost optimization, full potential plans, frontline enablement, and lean operations. In addition, she has worked in the infrastructure, energy, and agriculture industries, drawing on expertise in digital operations, operating model redesign, strategy, and major transformations.

Among her recent client engagements, Monika defined the transition strategy for a thermal coal mine to support 2,000 mainly residential workers, the broader community, and Indigenous peoples to prepare for life after mine closure. She has supported the full turnaround of a struggling manufacturing business and also supported the Australian government’s COVID-19 NCCC Manufacturing taskforce in defining the manufacturing industry growth strategy for Australia.
