Benjamin Vannier is a core member of Boston Consulting Group’s Energy practice focused on utilities, power generation, and energy retail. He co-leads the Energy practice on the East Coast, and leads the firm’s work in nuclear and power generation. Ben is also a member of BCG’s Corporate Finance & Strategy practice and is the energy/corporate development liaison for North America.

Since joining BCG in October 2010, Ben’s work has focused on energy—including strategy, corporate development, PMO, and operations. His major cases for the firm include a corporate development strategy for a major integrated US utility, end-to-end M&A and post-merger integration for a large electric utility, a spinoff for a regulated and unregulated player, a performance improvement and digital transformation program for a large power generator (thermal, nuclear, renewables), a nuclear asset strategy for a major US nuclear operator, and corporate strategy definition for several utilities, independent system operators (ISOs), and energy OEMs.

Prior to joining BCG, Ben worked at Areva Wind (offshore wind OEM), where he led the supply chain assessment for entry in North America, and was a production manager at Areva's nuclear fuel reprocessing plant. He also worked in private equity and international finance and development.
