BCG Partners with the World Economic Forum

The World Economic Forum engages leaders from all facets of society—business, politics, academia, and beyond—to shape global, regional, and industry agendas and drive positive change. Like our fellow members, BCG attends the Annual Meeting in Davos, the Annual Meeting of the New Champions in China, and many other regional gatherings.

Our relationship goes beyond these meetings. The World Economic Forum taps our people and insights for its collaborative projects, publications, and global communities to engage stakeholders, improve policymaking, inform business decisions, and share best practices. Over the years, more than 100 BCGers have engaged.

BCG-WEF Project: The Net-Zero Challenge

The Net-Zero Challenge

The latest climate science is clear, the imperative for action indisputable. We’re calling for the acceleration of fact-based, ambitious, unequivocal climate action from businesses and governments alike.

BCG-WEF Project: Mission Possible

Mission Possible

This new platform aims to support coalitions in the heavy industry and transport sectors, which are researching and promoting approaches to decarbonization. Our systematic framework will enable public procurement officials to overcome the challenges of setting and reaching net-zero goals and create the green demand signals for hard-to-abate industries.

Initiatives We Support

BCG actively contributes to key alliances and partnerships born out of the World Economic Forum in the spirit of unlocking the potential of those who advance the world.

Harnessing Purchasing Power to Drive Decarbonization Through the First Movers Coalition | Rectangle

First Movers Coalition (FMC)

Getting to net zero by 2050 is possible if the right technologies are brought to commercial scale within the next decade. BCG is a founding member of the First Movers Coalition, a group of forward-thinking companies that aim to jumpstart the global demand for critical emerging solutions by mobilizing the necessary investments and lowering costs. The coalition will work across eight key sectors: steel, cement, aluminum, chemicals, shipping, aviation, trucking, and direct air capture. FMC is a public-private partnership led by the US State Department (through John Kerry, the special presidential envoy for climate), and the World Economic Forum.
