Mate Gerecs came to Boston Consulting Group in 2006. He is a core member of BCG’s global Energy and Operations practices, and in recently has been involved in several gas and electricity projects in Europe, the Middle East, and the U.S. in all steps of the value chain. He has project experience in a wide variety of energy topics, including strategy, regulation, corporate development and M&A, business development, operational efficiency, and investment optimization.

Mate is a former ambassador at the BCG Henderson Institute, where he supported Christophe Brognaux’s fellowship research on the transition of energy markets and the shifting energy landscape. During this time, he was part of the team that built BCG’s Global Energy Scenario Model and wrote articles including "Why Coal Will Keep Burning" and "Preparing for a Warmer World."
