In The Telegraph, BCG’s Raoul Ruparel discusses why Britain’s energy costs are well above those of its peer countries, and notes that average annual household electricity bills are projected to increase by more than £260 by 2035 if unaddressed. According to a BCG report, as high prices lead to lower electricity consumption, power bills will be increasingly comprised of renewable subsidies and grid upgrades. “Britain isn’t an outlier because our system is more expensive: it’s largely because of how we’ve chosen to pay for it,” Ruparel says.
