Development of the electric vehicle industry is an important national agenda for Indonesia, covered by a presidential decree and national plans. Particularly in the e2W (electric two-wheeler) segment, Indonesia offers an attractive ecosystem for EV acceleration. Focusing on Indonesia’s domestic e2W industry not only supports a more suitable low-carbon transport solution, but also offers up the chance to unlock valuable socio-economic opportunities. In this joint study with AEML, we provide the roadmap to electrifying Indonesia’s two-wheeler industry, its challenges, and opportunities.
