As someone immersed in research on sustainability in food supply chains, I share the anxiety of many about the destructive impact of humans on the planet. And as more evidence of this emerges, it makes shocking reading: up to one million plant and animal species are at risk of extinction, according to a recent estimate from the IPBES (Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystems Services).
