Carl Clayton is a core member of Boston Consulting Group's Energy, and Climate & Sustainability practices focused primarily on supporting clients’ strategic transformations within energy transition and global decarbonization.

Carl has deep expertise in low carbon solutions, covering carbon capture and storage (CCS), bioenergy, biofuels, carbon removal, and hydrogen and derivatives.

Since joining BCG, Carl has worked extensively advising clients on large cross-sector climate and energy related transformations including many major corporations, energy companies, and private equity and financial institutions. He works at the intersection of science, technology, business, and finance, on a wide range of strategic and transformational challenges.

Prior to moving into consulting Carl had over 16 years of industrial experience in various engineering, management, and strategic development positions. He is also a Chartered Engineer.
