Harnessing the Power of Volatility in Downstream Oil & Gas

To succeed in today's environment of high volatility and regulation, refining and petrochemicals companies must focus on achieving excellence in operations to maximize gross margin, excellence in plant management, and excellence in commercial offerings, explains BCG's Jaime Ruiz-Cabrero. The partner and managing director has found that working alongside companies to achieve these goals has helped those organizations realize additional gross margins of $1 to $3 per barrel.

Jaime Ruiz-Cabrero leads The Boston Consulting Group's Energy practice in Asia-Pacific and the firm’s global work in refining. He also leads BCG’s oil and gas topic in Africa and is a core member of the Operations practice.

Since Jaime joined BCG in 2004, his client work has focused on the oil and gas industry. He has acquired deep expertise in all stages of the oil and gas value chain in both transformations and strategy development work.

Jaime truly works globally, supporting international and national oil companies and independents across multiple locations, including Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.

Before joining BCG, Jaime was a manager in the London office of a multinational engineering company.
