Joseph Fitzgerald is a leader in Boston Consulting Group’s Technology, Media, & Telecommunications practice, where he leads the firm’s electronics and semiconductor supply chain work and Operations practice. He specializes in supply chain management and engineering across the technology and semiconductor industries, with a growing focus on applying AI and agentic solutions to transform engineering and supply chain performance.
Joe has over 20 years of experience in semiconductors, semiconductor equipment, electronic devices (PCs, mobile, tablets, etc.), advanced systems manufacturing, and supply chain. He has considerable expertise in end-to-end transformations, including product development optimization, advanced analytics, integrated planning capability development, and large-scale technology design and implementation (advanced planning systems, product lifecycle management solutions, enterprise resource planning). His recent work emphasizes the deployment of AI-driven and autonomous (agentic) solutions to improve decision making, resilience, and operational efficiency across engineering and supply chain functions. In addition, he has worked extensively on innovation, M&A integration, advanced manufacturing, telecom network management, device reverse logistics, and medtech.
Prior to joining BCG, Joe led semiconductor and tech operations during his 15 years at Deloitte advising clients across industries on electronics supply chain strategy and operations. Prior to that, he spent 11 years gaining practical industry experience in semiconductor engineering and supply chain roles, primarily in semiconductor capital equipment and materials science research.
