Marco Tonegutti joined Boston Consulting Group in 2005. He is the firm’s worldwide topic leader for energy, procurement, and construction (EPC) and a core member of BCG’s Energy practice, with experience in business plan development, strategy, and organization and processes.

Marco has served many oil and gas EPC contractors as well as international and national oil and independent R&M companies across Europe (including Italy, Iberia, Germany, and Greece), the Middle East (Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Israel, and Turkey), and Africa.

In the field of oil and gas and energy EPC, Marco has worked on many strategic, design, and diagnostic projects around the world. In the field of refining and petrochemicals, Marco has participated in five major-transformation programs for different clients, including an operational-excellence effort to optimize product yields, energy efficiency, and asset management for a petrochemical player, and a review of investment plans for an independent refiner.

Marco has also completed many client assignments in supply and trading and in oil downstream supply-chain and marketing. He has led projects on corporate portfolio strategy for energy players, specifically in waste-to-energy, wind-on-shore, and photovoltaic technologies.

Before joining BCG, Marco was a consultant at two boutique consulting companies, where he developed organization and management accounting projects in the retail and fashion industries.
