Michael Widowitz joined Boston Consulting Group in 2002. He is a core member of the global Financial Institutions practice area and a co-topic leader for Treasury for the European Risk Expert Team, as well as a topic leader for Credit Risk and Digital in Risk. Michael is also the regional topic leader for Risk in CEE and the Recruiting Director for the European Risk Team.

Michael is an expert on all aspects of risk in the financial sector, including market risk, risk appetite, risk strategy, and risk return. He has worked with clients on early warning systems, risk strategies, Bank-wide risk steering preparation and implementation, and turnaround and growth strategy, and other aspects of financial strategy. Michael's work is currently focused on digitization of the risk function in financial institutions, modernizing risk appetite frameworks, and optimizing the credit risk and treasury functions in banks.

Prior to joining the firm, Michael worked for Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt.
