Sam Karita

Senior Partner & Managing Director


Sam Karita leads The Boston Consulting Group’s Marketing, Sales & Pricing practice in Japan and is a member of the firm’s Health Care, Consumer, and Corporate Development practices.

Since joining BCG in 1997, Sam has worked closely with clients in a wide variety of industries, including pharmaceuticals, biotech, consumer goods, entertainment, high tech, and telecommunications. He has developed particular expertise in sales force effectiveness, digital marketing, and innovation across sectors.

Sam has developed Japan strategies for companies in the US and global strategies for Japan-based companies. He has also created sales and marketing strategies and new-product strategies for clients in numerous industries.

Before joining BCG, Sam worked for the Industrial Bank of Japan, where he was in charge of corporate finance for several major accounts. He is also a semiprofessional musician who records music and performs live in Tokyo.
