Stephan Thiel joined Boston Consulting Group in Frankfurt in 2000. He is currently Global Analytics Business Management Senior Director for BCG GAMMA. As such, he is responsible for setting strategy and managing BCG's Global Analytics Execution Capability. Stephan has held a number of positions at BCG, including Head of Analytics Solutions Operations and Head of Information Systems.

Stephan has worked in digital and analytics roles throughout his entire career. Early on, he developed new capabilities and teams for BCG including specialized software development teams and large scale global analytics delivery capabilities. In his current role, Stephan leads a fast-growing globally distributed team of over 250 analytics experts. In addition, he drives BCG's core analytics curriculum for more than 10,000 consultants worldwide, including for BCG's Analytics University.

Stephan created BCG's Case Team Tools Team (a specialized team focusing on the consulting workplace). He has also led BCG's global Information Systems Team, and led multiple international engagements focused on analytics and tool development in industries including consumer goods, banking, and insurance.

Before joining the firm, Stephan ran his own e-commerce consulting startup and held multiple assistant professor and university teaching positions.
