Yasushi Sasaki leads Boston Consulting Group in the Asia Pacific region overseeing BCG’s business for Australia, China, India, Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia. He has over two decades of leadership experience across Northeast Asia and the broader Asia Pacific region.
Yasushi advises CEOs and top management teams across industries on AI-enabled transformation and large-scale business model reinvention. He is known for helping organizations move beyond isolated AI experimentation to enterprise-wide transformation, by combining strategic insight with applied AI to deliver measurable business impact and accelerate decision making. He works closely with leaders to embed AI into the core of their operating models, governance, and growth strategies, enabling organizations to unlock new sources of value and build lasting competitive advantage.
As BCG’s Northeast Asia System Leader (2019–2024), Yasushi drove exceptional growth, focusing on strengthening BCG's presence in Japan and Korea and expanding the firm's footprint across the region. Previously, he led BCG’s Asia Pacific Financial Institutions practice, advising top CEOs on strategic transformations, organizational redesign, sales innovation, and digital and AI-driven modernization.
Prior to joining BCG, Yasushi worked both in Tokyo and London for the Industrial Bank of Japan (now Mizuho Financial Group), where he was responsible for M&A advisory and leveraged finance. Yasushi is a purpose-driven and inclusive leader. He is recognized for his collaborative approach, deep-rooted integrity, and enduring commitment to mentoring the next generation of leaders.
