The disconnect between German auto dealer sales motivations and the need to slash fleetwide C02 emissions could cost automakers billions of euros in annual fines. Dealers also too often leave money on the table because they don’t use analytics to assess what types of incentives and discounts work best to close a sale. As the auto industry struggles with falling sales and stiff price competition, these are areas where automakers and dealers can work together to improve profit margins.
