Jens Burchardt is Boston Consulting Group's global expert on climate impact and co-founder of the firm’s Center for Climate and Sustainability.

Jens advises clients in the private and public sectors on how to prepare for a low-carbon economy and how to win in low-carbon technologies such as hydrogen, power-to-x, and carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS). He has supported decarbonization projects with a total investment volume of several billion euros in sectors such as oil and gas, power, steel, cement, chemicals, automotive, shipping, aviation, and consumer goods. He also helped clients set up new low-carbon businesses in areas like hydrogen, e-fuels, and carbon credits.

Jens is the author of several landmark BCG publications on climate change that are regularly cited in national and international media. He is a regular speaker on the climate transition, including at TED, and has advised the World Economic Forum, the UN Conference of the Parties (COP26), and several German government commissions on decarbonization.
