Saudi Arabia’s Banking Sector
Saudi Arabia's banking sector experienced a period of high profitability in 2022 and is poised for continued growth for 2023.
We are proud to be a part of an unparalleled story of reform, market liberalization, and economic diversification. Our industry expertise helps enterprise clients, public sector entities, and other partners achieve their business goals and national visions.
We are excited to witness KSA’s rise as a tourist and entertainment destination as it attracts global events and invests in sporting infrastructure. With Saudi Arabia opening up to the world, the country is fast becoming a hub of global talent and foreign direct investment. BCG is proud to play a role in this transformation.
Our offices in Riyadh are at the heart of the country’s dynamic transformation. An open collaborative space creates room for conversations, ideas, and innovation. Here, we thrive in a cooperative and inclusive culture that defines BCG KSA, creating momentum behind Saudi Arabia’s monumental transition.
For team BCG KSA, this is an unparalleled opportunity to be part of something bigger. Every day, we discover, help transform, and marvel at a destination making its mark on the world stage.
Saudi Arabia is a beautiful mix of modernity and tradition. In the capital city of Riyadh, the Riyadh Season of attractions, concerts, food and arts events, and an expanding schedule of entertainment deliver special opportunities to socialize and bond. There are cultural and historical treasures to discover and explore mere miles away—ranging from the desert to the sea to UNESCO World Heritage sites.
This mix of work and culture is what makes our Saudi offices so compelling. Unrivaled hospitality, a rich heritage, and a family-first lifestyle combine seamlessly with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to participate and shape a nationwide transformation.
BCG’s offices in Riyadh are a blend of global and local. We are inspired by global best practice but deeply appreciative of the local culture. Our offices are diverse not only in terms of nationalities and perspectives but also in gender representation. We are supporting Saudi Arabia’s national goals for female participation in the workforce, and are proud that women comprise a large percentage of our teams, contributing fresh perspectives, insights, and creativity.
Nora, a junior associate in the Riyadh office, shares her story and how she is delivering BCG's purpose of unlocking the potential of those who can advance the world.
Bassam, a member of BCG’s first senior legal team in the region, shares how his role allows him to combine knowledge, process and curiosity into solutions that facilitate all BCG functions.
OBJECTIVES
In Saudi Arabia, young people under 25 years of age constitute over 50% of the population. This offers an incredible opportunity to harness, shape, and drive human talent to make a genuine difference in achieving Saudi Arabia’s development goals.
In line with the Saudi Vision 2030’s goal of increasing women’s participation in the workforce, Jeel Tamooh ensures an equal number of men and women in every edition.
Jeel Tamooh draws from BCG’s broader strategic insight into skills development, including BCG’s Future Skills Architect Framework, to build a bank of skills relevant to Saudi Arabia’s current and future economic needs.
Jeel Tamooh is designed to teach and empower next-generation industry leaders. It creates future-ready skills to prepare youth in Saudi Arabia for the fourth Industrial Revolution. The program addresses a potential mismatch between the skills that the workforce possesses versus what is required on the job. It also builds bridges between key employers and young talent through a variety of initiatives, including virtual career fairs.
SUCCESS AND IMPACT
Since 2019, Jeel Tamooh has welcomed more than 300 students from Saudi Arabia’s top universities, with 150 young women as part of its edition. It has strengthened leadership, professional, and interpersonal skills among young future leaders.
The program is supported by industry leaders such as LinkedIn, Harvard Business Review (HBR) Arabia, the Capital Market Authority, Riyad Bank, Banque Saudi Fransi Bank, Ma’aden, Seera Group, the Public Investment Fund (PIF), and many others. It also has served as a fast track to rewarding careers within BCG itself.
