The firm’s sustained double-digit growth in business in multiple industry sectors—including health care, financial services, high tech, and consumer goods—made opening an office in New Jersey a logical step that strengthens our ability to serve the expanding client base there. As we continue to grow, we will hire at all seniority levels. Our staff will enjoy broad access to our senior team, strong avenues for personal and professional growth, and the opportunity to contribute to the development of the office.
BCG in New Jersey opened in Summit in 2006, the 12th office The Boston Consulting Group established in North America. The office reflects the firm’s continued growth in the greater New York metropolitan area and is closely affiliated with BCG’s New York office in location and operations. The two offices are together known as the firm’s Metro offices. This connection offers a rich alternative for our staff: it gives us the resources and opportunities of a larger office, but in a smaller, more intimate and entrepreneurial culture.
Our teams work across a diverse range of industries—health care, insurance, industrial goods, financial services, consumer goods, retail, and many more. The New Jersey and New York offices also divide their time between strategic consulting at the pro bono level and working in hands-on community service. Both offices enjoy long-term pro bono relationships with the Wildlife Conservation Society and the New York City Opera, for example. Volunteer-based community initiatives include the New York City Mentoring Program, for which BCG has received multiple awards, and an ongoing relationship with Junior Achievement.
The culture of BCG in New Jersey encourages professional challenges, development, and teamwork. The atmosphere is open, flexible, and lively and leaves room for individuals with diverse backgrounds and characters. The office has grown to almost 200 staff members but retains a small-office feeling—it’s a very tight-knit family. We are always hosting various social, community, and team bonding activities to encourage everyone to get to know one another outside of work. We also host Friday lunches, an annual ski trip, theme and costume parties, Community Service Day, happy hours, holiday parties, annual retreats, and Global Table celebrations.
