BCG at COP27

Combating the devastating effects of climate change requires mobilizing governments, corporations, finance, and civil society. At COP27, public- and private-sector leaders will unite in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, to seek solutions alongside BCG, the exclusive COP27 consulting partner.

COP27: Together for Implementation

Climate action is an ongoing process, not an event, and it requires extraordinary collaboration. COP27 provides a critical opportunity for business and government leaders to double down on their climate goals, forge new collaborations, and achieve innovative solutions—together. This year, COP27 will focus particular attention on strengthening adaptation and resilience, mitigating emissions, facilitating a just transition, and increasing funding and collaboration for essential climate solutions.

Bringing Our Expertise to COP27

As the exclusive COP27 consulting partner, we are working directly alongside COP27 President Designate Minister Sameh Shoukry of Egypt and his team to generate momentum on climate action. We also continue to support the High-Level Climate Action Champions for Egypt and the UK, Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin and Nigel Topping, to further climate action through their campaigns, including the Race to Zero and the Race to Resilience. In addition to previously serving as the exclusive consultancy partner to COP26, BCG brings a potent set of strengths to the table:

BCG at COP26 Summary

As the exclusive consultancy partner to COP26, BCG is extraordinarily proud of the progress made during last year’s UN climate change conference in Glasgow:

  • 90% of the world is now committed to net zero.
  • The Paris Rulebook is complete.
  • Nearly 200 countries pledged at COP26 to speed up the end of fossil fuel subsidies and reduce the use of coal.
  • More than 100 governments pledged at COP26 to reduce deforestation and methane emissions.
  • The US and China issued a joint declaration at COP26 on climate collaboration.
  • More than 5,200 businesses committed to science-based net-zero targets.

But there is much more work to be done—and we are working closely with our COP27 partners to build on our COP26 commitments.
