Quantum’s Emissions Reduction Potential

In Semafor, BCG’s Maurice Berns discusses a BCG Institute study, which projects that quantum computing could reduce 20% to 40% of emissions in hard-to-abate sectors like steel and cement by 2040. The analysis finds that long replacement cycles for industrial equipment in these sectors make it important for business leaders to plan for quantum now, as many of the industrial assets that could eventually benefit from the technology are being built today.
