BCG's latest report, titled "A Digital Pill for Revolutionizing Healthcare", developed in partnership with B Capital, reveals that India's digital healthcare industry is poised for significant growth. The report predicts that the industry, which was valued at US$2.7 billion in 2022, could expand more than tenfold to reach ~US$37 billion by 2030. This remarkable growth is primarily driven by the rising demand for healthcare services and aims to bridge the existing gaps within India's healthcare sector.

The key drivers behind this growth are rapid digitization, an increasing number of innovative healthtech platforms and partnerships created by start-ups and incumbents, a favorable funding environment for solid business models, and progressive initiatives by the government.

The report highlights the unique structural complexities across India’s healthcare industry as well as presents emerging themes that will shape the future of India’s digital healthcare landscape, including key business model archetypes and their underlying economics. It also examines the likely evolution of these business models, as well as the key opportunities and imperatives for start-up founders and incumbents.
