India stands at a defining moment in its technological evolution. Over the past decade, digital public infrastructure has transformed identity, payments, and service delivery at population scale. With financial inclusion nearing 90% and real-time payments at global leadership levels, India has built strong digital rails. Artificial intelligence now represents the next foundational layer of this transformation
The “AI for All” report, developed in collaboration with Prosus and India AI Mission, builds on 5 detailed roundtables with respective sector stakeholders and presents a roadmap for deploying AI as a systemic capability across five critical sectors: healthcare, agriculture, education, manufacturing, and financial services. Unlike earlier waves of digitization focused on access and efficiency, AI directly enhances decision-making, productivity, and human capacity. The central challenge is to move beyond fragmented pilots toward scaled, outcome-driven implementation.
Across sectors, India has achieved scale, but quality and consistency remain uneven. AI offers new levers to strengthen service delivery, improve productivity, expand access to credit and insurance, enhance learning outcomes, and enable smarter resource allocation. The report outlines a strategic agenda focused on embedding AI in core workflows, strengthening shared digital infrastructure and governance, and aligning roles across government, industry, startups, and research institutions.
Positioned as a force multiplier rather than a substitute for human expertise, AI can help India transition from digital inclusion to intelligent inclusion. This report provides an execution blueprint to move from potential to practice and to position India as a global leader in human-centric AI at scale.
