James Gott is a core member of Boston Consulting Group's Consumer practice. He works with retail and consumer products clients on growth strategy, consumer insights, network design, and digital transformation. James is also a leader in diversity, inclusion, mental health, and wellbeing through his roles leading both Unlocking Potential and Pride@BCG in Canada.
James has significant experience helping retailers build capabilities for an increasingly omnichannel reality. This includes store and network optimization, category strategy (including assortment and pricing), and customer engagement (including loyalty and promotion). In consumer products, his focus areas are consumer insights, demand-centric growth, category strategy, and procurement.
In addition to his client service roles, James has held many leadership positions at BCG in Canada, including Toronto recruiting director. He also regularly collaborates with BCG’s Centre for Canada’s Future on research into Canadian consumers and ESG trends. Before joining the firm, he worked in strategy and operations at a closely held CPG company.
