The report covers four sectors in the consumer industry—fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), consumer durables and apparel, retail, and travel and tourism. The analysis is based on empirical data from The Boston Consulting Group’s fourteenth annual report in the Value Creators series, Improving the Odds: Strategies for Superior Value Creation (September 2012), which is a broader review of 1,003 companies across 21 industry sectors.
