Boston Consulting Group is an influential and trusted source of strategic advice in Canada serving many of the country’s largest corporations across all sectors and geographies.
At BCG, our people is what differentiates us. We hire, train, and support the very best to be able to tackle the country's toughest problems. BCGers come from a wide variety of places representing over 30 countries, 50 languages, and 100 educational institutions. Our staff is truly as global as our country.
BCG has been and continues to be an ideal platform to accelerate careers. We believe in helping individuals grow and chart their own course. The BCG family extends beyond day-to-day work through the care we provide to the individual, and the support and life-long relationships that extend far beyond a person’s time at the firm.
We are proud that numerous external and independent organizations have recognized BCG as an employer of choice, including Canada’s Top Employers for Young People and Universum’s Top 100 Most Attractive Employers in Canada for 2019. We are proud to be one of Canada’s Most Admired Cultures, as identified by Waterstone Human Capital, and for four consecutive years be recognized as one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers.
We collaborate with top Canadian corporations and their executive teams to develop unique insights, create lasting impact, and drive fundamental transformation. Working out of BCG’s offices in Toronto, Montreal, and Calgary, we support clients across the country and across all sectors—including consumer goods, retail, financial services, industrial goods, technology, media, energy, and private equity industries.
We work shoulder to shoulder to create custom solutions by leveraging the best of BCG and the best insights from Canada and around the world. Our organization is home to global experts on topics such as social impact, people and organization, transformation, operations, big data and analytics, innovation and product development, and strategy. We build lasting relationships so it is no surprise over 75% of our revenue comes from repeat business.
In turbulent times our clients turn to us first as their trusted advisor on weathering the storm and supporting their business objectives through uncertainties.
Giving back has always been a key part of our DNA. BCG globally is committed to helping make the world a better place for all, and gives back a portion of its consulting time to charities each year. We help our corporate clients be better. Read more about BCG’s Total Societal Impact here.
In Canada, we use our donated time to focus on issues that support and help improve lives in the communities in which we operate—from helping top charities scale their impact across Canada to developing new models to attack well-known problems. In addition to the dedicated approximately $3 million of annual pro bono consulting we provide, our staff also volunteer their time: leading local mentorship programs with Pathways to Education, fundraising for United Way, and using their consulting skills to support LEAP | Pecaut Centre for Social Impact's selected and scale what works in social impact.
Last year almost 200 staff volunteered over 10,000 hours to social impact work in Canada. We have collaborated with some 30 leading local, regional, and global organizations to increase their efficiency and effectiveness—and ultimately their impact. It's part of who we are as a firm and as individuals.
Inspired by the legacy of the late David Pecaut, BCG helped found and continues to house LEAP | Pecaut Centre for Social Impact to help scale what works to drive change in our communities. The Centre invests in early and growth-stage ventures in health, education, and employment to develop sustainable, high-impact solutions to complex social problems. LEAP has supported scaling six ventures through their "scale-a-rator" and ten ventures through an accelerator it ran with the Google Impact Challenge. In 2020, LEAP is launching its next accelerator—more news on this will be coming soon. BCGers across the country support the work through both volunteering and pro bono casework on an ongoing basis.
Canada's historic successes as an economy will not necessarily be what drives us into the future. As such, BCG launched the Centre for Canada's Future to help shape the national agenda and make Canada an even better place to live, work, and run a business.
In 2017, to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday, BCG launched the CCF to contribute to the national dialogue, help shape the country’s agenda, and identify the greatest opportunities for Canada. By tackling the most pressing issues in our country, the CCF delivers the best of BCG's consulting and analytical capabilities, partners with Canadian organizations from across industries, and convenes Canada’s leaders from the public and private sectors to foster collaboration.
The centre is a nonprofit venture dedicated to serving as a catalyst that moves Canada forward by identifying, analyzing, and leading action on the nation’s greatest opportunities within topics including diversity, climate, and infrastructure.
Beyond Good Intentions
BCG surveyed over 5000 employees at major Canadian corporations to get a bottom-up view of how women, LGBTQ2, people of colour, Indigenous people and Canadians with disabilities experience diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Moose in the Room: Insight into Canadian Debt and Deleveraging Scenarios
BCG examined data from 18 countries over the past 50 years with the goal of addressing one key question: if Canada were to experience a major deleveraging shock, what would it look like and how could Canadian companies prepare?
