What do policies promoting gender equality in Morocco and anticorruption watchdogs in Poland have in common? They both contribute to well-being as measured by BCG’s Sustainable Economic Development Assessment, or SEDA. This index goes beyond the economic barometer of GDP and looks at how governments use their money. The outcomes—which reflect evaluations of factors such as public safety, clean water, and access to education—might surprise you.

TED@BCG was a TED-curated event featuring a diverse group of speakers from the BCG community. Jointly produced by TED and BCG, the event put a spotlight on ideas, projects, and insights that will contribute to the pursuit of growing ever onward and upward.

This video, presented by the TED Institute, is based on the BCG report Why Well-Being Should Drive Growth Strategies: The 2015 Sustainable Economic Development Assessment.
