Chris Mitchell is an economic development expert at Boston Consulting Group, working with a range of clients across agriculture and consumer products. He is a core member of BCG's Social Impact practice and has worked closely with clients on issues related to strategy and building inclusive markets.

Chris joined the firm in February 2021, bringing 15 years of experience in Africa, India, and the UK working with clients in the telecommunications, financial services, agriculture, and consumer products industries. Chris’s main area of focus is transforming food systems—supporting public, private, and social sector organizations as they align and coordinate their policy, investments, and operations to create more sustainable and healthy diets for all people. He has worked across various value chains including caloric staples, oil seeds, animal sourced foods, horticulture, and export-oriented cash crops. He has worked with leading global and African consumer product companies in beverages, food, and personal care. Chris is committed to helping African businesses thoughtfully use technology to grow, process, and bring more desirable, affordable, accessible, and nutritious food to consumers across the continent.
