Freek Verwoert joined Boston Consulting Group as a consultant in 2013. He specializes in insurance and risk management for financial institutions and is a core member of the Insurance and Financial Institutions practices. He has over ten years of experience in insurance and banking, working for BCG clients in the Netherlands and across the globe.

Freek has led strategy reviews and transformations for a number of the top Dutch insurers and pension fund administrators. His engagements have covered due diligence, valuation, cost reduction, growth strategy, target operating model design, cost ambition setting, integration, risk and compliance, and implementation roadmapping.

Prior to joining BCG, Freek worked for five years in various functions in the risk management department of ABN AMRO, with a focus on risk modeling, risk-appetite-setting, firm-wide stress testing, and the internal capital adequacy assessment process.
