Tom von Oertzen is a Board member of BCG Digital Ventures Asia and is based in the Sydney office of The Boston Consulting Group. His work for BCG focuses on travel and tourism (including aviation, airports, and tour operators), and corporate innovation and digital (including incubation of corporate ventures and digital transformation). Tom is currently focusing on building client capabilities in digital and agile through lighthouse projects and ventures, and holding ongoing discussions with board directors on the challenges of digital disruption.

Tom joined BCG in 1995 and has also worked in the firm’s Chicago, Melbourne, and Auckland offices. He led BCG’s Airline practice in Asia Pacific as well the Operations practice in Australia. He has deep experience advising airline CEOs and leadership teams on strategy, new business ventures, loyalty, organizational effectiveness, and operational efficiency. He has worked with full service airlines, low-cost carriers, and airline startup ventures. Tom has also worked extensively in the mining and retail sectors.
