Working in Stockholm

Founded in 1989, BCG in Stockholm serves some of the most prominent companies within the Swedish region and beyond. We have clients in a wide range of sectors, including financial services, technology and communications, industrial goods, consumer goods, and health care.

Work and Culture

History of the Office

BCG opened its first Nordic office in Stockholm in 1989 with four consultants. Since then, the business has grown rapidly. Our office is located in an 18th-century building, overlooking the Royal Opera and the Royal Castle, right in the heart of Stockholm.

Who We Work With

The work we have done with clients here has turned BCG in Stockholm into a hub with world-class thought leadership in health care, fashion and retail, and media and telecommunications.

The team at BCG’s Stockholm office is made up of individuals from very diverse backgrounds, with more than ten nationalities represented. Through BCG's multiple mobility and secondment programs, our consultants have enjoyed prolonged transfers in Sydney, Shanghai, Dallas, Chicago, New York, and Kuala Lumpur.

Our Office Culture

BCG in Stockholm believes in the importance of creativity, analytical skills, and entrepreneurship, and we look for these talents in our people. These abilities help create solutions that deliver a clear impact and competitive advantage for our clients.

At the same time, we also remember the importance of having fun together. So to spice up life outside of work, several social events and outings are organized, ranging from annual autumn crayfish parties, an end-of-year black-tie event for staff and significant others, and our legendary skiing trip, which is a great way to end the winter season.

Welcome Letter

A decade ago, I joined BCG from another consultancy, convinced that this was where I would be offered the steepest learning curve and be able to drive impact in business and society. I was not disappointed. I cannot see that there is any other firm offering our combination of unique insight and genuine culture—for our people and clients.

Ten years on, I am proud to be part of a Nordic system that unites four very different cultures in one unique system, where lifting as a team is more important than individual performance. We are one of the fastest-growing systems at BCG, but the family feeling never disappears. Fundamentally, I am convinced that our growth comes down to our people—and the way we work together.

The environment in BCG’s Nordic offices is both stimulating and inspiring, and I continue to be in awe of the exceptional group of people with whom I work every single day. BCG continues to challenge me, even in my role as partner and managing director, and that is exactly why I keep choosing BCG as the place to develop myself and deliver impact for our clients.

It will be up to you to develop and design your own path at BCG, depending on which direction you want it to go. But whatever you decide, BCG will provide you with opportunities that you won’t find in other firms.

So, if you are passionate, driven, and curious by nature—then BCG is the place for you to be.
