Joe McDevitt is a physician by training and an expert in payer middle office transformation. A core member of Boston Consulting Group's Health Care practice, and a leader for the payer-provider team, Joe has significant experience in cost transformation across all levers, clinical operations (including risk adjustment, quality, utilization management, care management, and appeals), operating model design for complex, multi-line-of-business national payers, corporate portfolio strategy, and carve-outs.
He has special expertise in topics of value-based care (especially senior-focused primary care and home health) and Medicare Advantage, growth/profitability, and optimization of commercial health plans.
Before BCG, Joe was an interventional radiology resident at University of Texas-Southwestern, while also completing in-home medical assessments and authoring 20 peer-reviewed manuscripts.
