Sebastian Heumann

Sebastian Heumann is responsible for BCG Platinion’s Principal Investor & Private Equity (PIPE) business for Central Europe. He is a core member of Boston Consulting Group’s PIPE; Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT); and Tech & Digital Advantage (TDA) practices, with a strong focus on technology due diligence, tech value creation, and large-scale tech transformation in transaction contexts.

Sebastian has led numerous buy- and sell-side technology due diligences for private equity investors and strategic buyers across software, media and infrastructure (such as energy and telco). His transaction work covers full-stack assessments including platform architecture, SaaS readiness and cloud migration, R&D effectiveness, cybersecurity posture, scalability of product organizations, and tech-enabled business value creation.

Beyond diligence, Sebastian works closely with portfolio companies on post-deal value creation, including, SaaS and cloud transition roadmaps, target architecture definition and modernization programs, AI and data strategy, R&D target operating model redesign and scaling, product portfolio optimization and platform integration, tech cost transparency and efficiency programs. He has supported multiple carve-outs and integration programs, designing standalone target architectures and scalable tech organizations to enable accelerated growth under new ownership.

Sebastian has worked across Central Europe with broadcasting, streaming, software, and digital platform businesses, advising on technology strategy, product evolution, and scalable operating models in both transaction and standalone transformation settings.

Before joining BCG, Sebastian worked as Commercial Lead at freiheit.com and as a consultant at Sopra Steria SE and SEEBURGER AG.
