BOSTON—Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has been named a Leader in two distinct IDC MarketScape vendor assessments: IDC MarketScape: Worldwide People, Organization, and Change Management Consulting Services 2026 and IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Employee Experience Consulting Services 2026.

Based on IDC analysis, the assessment positioned vendors into one of four categories: Leaders, Major Players, Contenders, or Participants. BCG was positioned in the Leaders Category for both assessments.

“We are proud to be recognized by IDC MarketScape as a leader across both these categories of consulting services,” said David Martin, global leader of BCG’s People & Organization practice. “We believe this recognition reflects the strength of bringing strategic clarity, transformative impact, and technology together under one roof. It’s that integration, paired with our proprietary platforms and tools, that lets us help client organizations not just navigate the disruption AI is creating today, but build the capabilities to lead in whatever comes next.”

In BCG’s vendor profile, the 2026 IDC MarketScape for People, Organization and Change Management reports that what distinguishes BCG’s approach to this market is its framing of transformation success as primarily a people and process problem rather than a technology one. It continues, “The firm’s position is that 70% of transformation value is unlocked through people, organization, and process change, with technology and algorithms accounting for the remaining 30%.

“This view shapes how BCG approaches its engagements, emphasizing strategic clarity, the importance of culture and purpose, behavior change, adoption, leadership alignment, and work reinvention as the mechanisms that determine whether AI investments return value. The firm brings together strategy, transformation, change management and behavioral science, and AI-enabled delivery under a unified model it describes as OneBCG, integrating capabilities across organization design, culture and change, workforce planning, and capability building.

“BCG’s primary strength is its behavioral science infrastructure: the BehSciLab and Human Futures Lab, and How Change Really Works body of work provide differentiated IP that directly informs culture activation, leadership alignment, and workforce adoption design. Proprietary platforms and tools including OrgBuilder V5 by BCG X, Talent Builder by BCG X, and Culture Diagnostic and BCG U support organization design, workforce planning, and enterprisewide capability building, respectively.”

“In an era where AI can disrupt business models overnight, the true differentiator isn’t just technology. It is how organizations orchestrate people, culture, and change. The future belongs to those who master the human side of transformation, not just the digital,” said Bill Latshaw, research director, Business Consulting Services at IDC.

The 2026 IDC MarketScape for Employee Experience Consulting Services states, “BCG’s commitment is framed within its ‘transformation excellence’ approach of leader enablement, people engagement, executional certainty, and desired culture that establishes a human-centered transformation to improve the likelihood of lasting corporate success.”

“BCG also handles the pace of AI evolution well, including for AI’s infusion into employee experience transformation initiatives,” said Zachary Chertok, Senior Research Manager for HCM Applications and Agents at IDC. “BCG’s approach to AI helps clients navigate times when new digital capabilities can increase employee capabilities while also spiking worker cognitive loads and anxieties.”

The IDC MarketScape reports assess providers on their capabilities and strategies in a given market, using a mix of qualitative and quantitative criteria to position vendors on a single graphic illustration.

“Whether it’s a large-scale transformation or reshaping the employee experience, the work only holds if it’s aligned with the senior leaders who own the outcome,” said Sylvain Duranton, Global Leader of BCG X. “We build that strategic clarity first, then bring the behavioral science, tools, and workflow depth that turn it into lasting change.”
