JT Hsu leads Boston Consulting Group's Technology, Media & Telecommunications practice in Greater China and the Taipei office. He also leads BCG’s global work in semiconductors and materials.
JT has acquired extensive experience consulting along the value chain in consumer electronics, working with clients in the semiconductor, components, devices, content, and services sectors. JT works primarily with TMT clients in China, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea.
He has developed an internet of things (IoT) strategy for a leading tech client in Asia, helped another top tech client explore ways to leverage IoT strategy, and assisted a prominent Chinese smartphone manufacturer in developing and executing the channel strategy in multiple international markets.
His numerous projects include developing a five-year strategy for a semiconductor foundry and helping a leading Japanese consumer electronics company in India innovate and implement its business model. JT speaks English, Mandarin, Taiwanese, and Japanese.
Before joining BCG in 2005, JT was an IC designer at Digital Equipment Corp (Compaq), and then founded and joined several tech start-ups including Internet, network security, and network equipment ventures.
Western governments planning for the economic rebound should look to the East. Businesses will need to both support government actions and enhance trust for employees, customers, and value chain partners.
