Karl Breidenbach is a core member of Boston Consulting Group’s Operations practice. He leads the firm’s work on semiconductor and electronic/electrical procurement globally.
Karl has considerable expertise across the entire semiconductor value chain, with a focus on strategy, operations management, and global sourcing. He partners with OEMs (original equipment manufacturers), foundries, IDMs (integrated device manufacturers) and OSATs (outsourced semiconductor assembly and test), helping them define growth roadmaps, optimize procurement, and navigate the digitization of electronic architectures.
He is a regular contributor to thought leadership on semiconductor management, global sourcing, and advanced packaging--and lectures on semiconductor strategy at institutions including Mines Paris PSL and WHU–Otto Beisheim School of Management.
Before joining BCG in June 2022, Karl spent seven years at Infineon Technologies AG as Senior Director of Production Partners, overseeing business development and strategic partnerships with silicon foundries and OSAT providers. He began his career at IBM’s Strategy & Transformation practice and co-founded Clouneo, a B2B cloud computing startup serving SaaS and IaaS vendors.
