Tony Portera is a leading member of the firm's Consumer, Operations, and Marketing, Sales & Pricing practices, working primarily with major retailers. Tony currently serves as the global retail segment's go-to-market lead and is a member of BCG's Southwest leadership team.

Tony has worked with retailers across grocery, drug, mass market, specialty, convenience, value, DIY, and fashion channels, among others. His expertise in retail spans growth strategy, transformation, store operations (including labor, shrink, and on-shelf availability optimization), merchandising, cost management, customer insight, franchising, due diligence, post-merger integration, and change management.

Prior to joining BCG in 2007, Tony worked at Monitor Group where he advised companies in grocery and health care.
