In The New York Times, BCG’s Greg Emerson discusses how AI is transforming the labor market by reshaping jobs rather than replacing them. According to a BCG Henderson Institute study, 50% to 55% of US jobs will be reshaped by AI over the next two to three years, but far fewer will be replaced entirely. “What we’re actually seeing is that full-scale replacement of jobs is much, much slower because the implementation is harder,” Emerson asserts. “Whereas the augmentation and the reshaping of jobs is happening much, much faster.”
