BOSTON—Boston Consulting Group (BCG) was named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Artificial Intelligence Services 2025 Vendor Assessment (Doc #US52978525e, July 2025). According to the report, BCG “combines strategic, functional, and industry expertise; deep organization and process change expertise; technology expertise; and its technology build and design unit, BCG X, to help clients deliver value at scale from AI and transform into AI-first and agentic organizations.”
Based on IDC MarketScape’s evaluation and customer feedback, 20 vendors were evaluated and subsequently placed in one of four categories: Leaders, Major Players, Contenders, or Participants. BCG was placed in the Leaders Category.
The report noted, “The firm structures its AI transformation framework around three broad plays that aim to help organizations move from AI experimentation to full-scale impact: deploy (AI for productivity gains), reshape (AI-driven functional transformation), and invent (AI-powered business model innovation).”
The IDC MarketScape noted, “IDC considers BCG’s strategies related to client adoption, growth, and innovation and R&D as key strengths. Customers have regard for the company’s ability to apply functional- or industry-specific methodologies, manage key stakeholders, and showcase thought leadership related to emerging AI topics.”
“We are proud to be recognized as a Leader in artificial intelligence services by IDC MarketScape,” said Sylvain Duranton, global leader of BCG X. “Our mission is to help clients adopt and scale AI to achieve their business goals and deliver lasting impact. At the core of this commitment is our team of entrepreneurial minds, who bring deep expertise and ingenuity to every project.”
To be included in this IDC MarketScape assessment, vendors were required to have a minimum of $500 million in worldwide AI services revenue over the past calendar year, generated in each major geographic region; AI services offerings across the life cycle of business and IT services addressing a range of industry verticals and functions; their own software assets as part of a broader AI services portfolio; and go-to-market alliances with a range of AI technology providers.
