Michael Engelhardt is a core member of BCG Platinion, Boston Consulting Group's division focused on the development, implementation, and enablement of business-critical IT architecture and digital solutions. He co-leads the firm's cloud and the next-generation ERP business in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and South America (EMESA).

Michael specializes in developing future-proof IT architectures and steering major IT transformation programs for clients primarily in the industrial goods and health care industries. He helps clients design and migrate to next-generation architectures, including transforming IT organizations so they can adeptly manage large-scale IT programs through agile methodologies. He is able to generate substantial business impact through innovative IT solutions, particularly in the integration of cloud-based and next-generation ERP solutions.

Since joining BCG Platinion in 2007, Michael has successfully led projects including the modernization of legacy application, data, and infrastructure landscapes; the design and implementation of modern IT architectures, such as those involved in S/4HANA transformations; and the optimization of IT costs. Prior to joining BCG, Michael worked as a software developer in Germany.
