Jürgen Eckel leads BCG X (Boston Consulting Group's tech build and design unit) in the London, Amsterdam, Brussels (LAB) region, as well as the BCG X Insurance practice for Europe, the Middle East, South America, and Africa (EMESA).
Jürgen is an expert in venture building and innovation with a focus on GenAI, insurance and insurtech ecosystem plays, and technology adoption and scale-up.
He has extensive experience in GenAI strategy and development for European insurers and is a founding member of the BCG GenAI insurance core team. He is a tech entrepreneur, with over 20 years' experience building digital businesses.
In addition, Jürgen is an angel investor and advisory board member for several BCG X portfolio companies in Europe and China. Before rejoining BCG and BCG X in December 2022, he spent several years as co-founder and CTO of ICUnet.AG, an award-winning intercultural learning and consulting company in Europe.
