Singapore’s digital-talent gap has been a key challenge for companies, often hindering the country’s ambition to be a tech hub. Together with SkillsFuture Singapore, BCG U set about shrinking that gap by launching a unique train-and-place program called Rapid and Immersive Skill Enhancement. As of early 2023, the program has upskilled more than 2,000 midcareer Singaporean professionals, enabling them to pivot their career paths into in-demand data and digital roles. The upskilling training program is on track to teach at least 8,000 more over the next two years.
A leading global insurer saw that a changing climate and a transition to a low-carbon economy would present new business risks and opportunities. The company asked BCG U to deliver a climate-activation program to drive awareness, alignment, and activation on climate change across the company. The BCG U program went beyond climate literacy to drive tangible impact on the business. It illuminated how climate change and a low-carbon economy affects the company’s business lines, sparked cross-company dialogues, and helped the insurer begin to drive change throughout the organization.
A leading global mining company was looking to conduct a holistic reset of its learning and development (L&D) function, which was widely acknowledged within the company to be falling short of needs. BCG U assessed the company’s learning ecosystem to benchmark its performance and maturity against the ecosystems of peers and to understand its strengths and weaknesses. BCG U then helped the client identify best practices and form a vision for a fully reimagined, more robust L&D function.
